Sell Products From Home On EBay

Selling on eBay is pretty easy, once you get the hang of it.  However, one can quickly go into "information-overload" with all of the guides, tips, packages, etc that are out there to 'help' you.  Nine times out of ten, they hurt more than anything because you can be overwhelmed and feel discouraged with 10 Gigabytes of information sitting in front of you!

The best tip I can give for this is to stick to the help files found right on eBay.  They give you most of the information you need.  However, the help files are extensive, so a lot of people think that a "package" that is being sold will have more condensed, easier instructions.  Usually it just makes you more confused.  Here is an organized, short list of what you need to learn about selling successfully on eBay:

• Open a PayPal account and use it to accept payments as well as checks.

• Open a "Sellers Account"

• USE the free "About Me" page that eBay gives you with your account.  You can get a great amount of traffic to your website by getting people from your auction listing to your About Me page to your website.

• Get out of the mindset that all income must come in from sales on eBay alone.  Think of eBay more as an advertising tool.  There are millions of visitors on eBay... GET them to your website and sell things where you don't have to pay eBay fees.  Some sellers list on eBay, but are at the point where they don't care if their item sells or not because they are more interested in getting those people to their website and signing them up for something in order to collect their email address.

• Build your feedback as quickly as possible.  Certain eBay features are not available to you until you have a higher feedback and also, people are reluctant to trust or buy from someone who has a low feedback. 

• Have a template for your listings and About Me page.  It's so much nicer when you have a clean, professional looking listing and then a visitor clicks over to your About Me page and it all matches.

You may need a little web design knowledge to create a listing and About Me template that will look good on eBay.  You CAN use the pre-made templates through eBay but eBay may nickel and dime you to death with their fees.
